THE IMPORTANCE OF THE 1POINT PROJECT FOR HESO
Post February 1, 2023 by Dragan Kusić
The 1Point project proved to be a valuable experience, not only for HESO’s staff and technicians, but for the company as well. By implementing the 1Point project, members of HESO aspired to develop training material for future maintenance professionals in order to improve their IT skills, foster employability and develop innovative thinking. Nevertheless, apart from expanding it’s expertise, HESO gained a multitude of things.
For starters, HESO’s participation in the 1Point project, allowed the company to stay competitive and up-to-date with industry standards by identifying the skills and competencies required for maintenance professionals in the current job market. By doing so, the company is better equipped to attract and retain skilled professionals and remain competitive in the industry.
Moreover by assisting in the development of training content and contributing to the development of the curriculum, allowed HESO to ensure that our researchers and technicians have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their job effectively. This will lead to better job performance, increased job satisfaction and potentially lower staff turnover rates.
Furthermore, HESO was the leading partner in the development of the project’s virtual Learning Motivation Environment (https://onepoint.erasmusplus.space/). Based on the frameworks provided by the partnership, HESO’s technicians built the platform from scratch. The platform is a multilingual environment and it’s content is translated into all partners languages (English, Slovenian, Italian, Spanish, Greek), allowing maintenance workers from all over Europe to be involved with the training activities. At the time of this writing, the platform has more than 230 enrolled users from 7 different European countries.
This achievement did not only benefit HESO’s employees by increasing their skills and knowledge but also the company by ensuring a high level of job performance and job satisfaction.
From this project, HESO will take away a better understanding of the current needs and key competencies required for maintenance professionals, as well as a comprehensive training program and a virtual platform for ongoing training and development.
The benefits to the company, also include increased job performance, job satisfaction and lower staff turnover rates. It also ensures that HESO remains competitive in the industry by attracting and retaining skilled professionals.
In terms of future plans, HESO will continue to promote the projects results & platform and aspires to increase the number of enrolled users.
